Change Your Core Beliefs - Continued
The answer is to, as often as possible, catch yourself in the act of I AMing and—in that moment—consciously choose to think something that evokes a more positive emotion. That’s the ultimate “secret” to unleashing your personal power as a conscious creator.
Even if you don’t see how the more positive thought could come true, imagine it anyway with an attitude of grattitude.
This is how you change your core beliefs. Besides, who will know?
A man’s way of doing things is the direct result of the way he thinks about things.
—Wallace D. Wattles, The Science of Getting Rich
Every moment you aren’t happy about your life presents an opportunity to transform your negative (resisting) core beliefs.
For example, sitting in traffic on your way to work gives you the chance to think thoughts that come closer to agreeing with who you really are, such as “I appreciate that I have a job now. I have a lot to offer. There are jobs closer to home that are more rewarding and people who are willing to pay me what I’m worth!”
The more you imagine with a grateful and open mind what that job looks like and how it feels to have it, the more you release your old I AM attachment to struggle and suffering. And the more you expect to receive what you want the faster it falls into place!
Why We Resist
We resist remembering who we really are because we can. We have free will and the freedom to turn toward or away from accepting our true nature. Otherwise we would be mere automatons (robots) and have no reason to exist. Because we can think for ourselves, we can have unique experiences that contribute to the expansion of God Consciousness.
As an energy being with free will, I am free to believe old programming such as it isn’t safe out there, or that the world is a playground full of opportunities I deserve to take advantage of. I can believe it is better to not have much money and limit my options and my ability to have new experiences. Or I can believe I deserve to be rich and have all the things and people around me I want to create and enjoy wonderful new experiences. Either choice contributes to the expansion of God Consciousness, but to different degrees.
Which choice I make is up to me. A conscious creator programs his core beliefs deliberately.
Your Core Beliefs Define Your Comfort Zone
My conscious or rational mind has many jobs. It interacts with the world, interprets my five physical senses, solves problems, and most importantly, follows the directives of my core beliefs in order to protect me. Whenever my conscious mind perceives danger, it projects fear-based thoughts and drives my behavior in ways that keep me aligned with my core beliefs and thus inside my comfort zone.
